Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the OOTD — Personal Wardrobe Stylist mobile application, developed by AnAr Labs.

1. Our Core Privacy Principle

OOTD is a privacy-first, local-first app. Your wardrobe data — photos, clothing details, outfit history, and personal measurements — is stored exclusively on your device by default. We have no access to this data unless you explicitly enable optional cloud backup.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data stored on your device (never transmitted by default)

  • Photos — images of your clothing items, captured via camera or gallery. Stored locally in the app's private storage.
  • Clothing details — category, colour, material, size, brand, fit, style, and notes you enter for each item.
  • Personal profile — name, age, gender, height, and weight. Used solely to personalise outfit suggestions within the app.
  • Outfit history and wear tracking — how often and when you wear items and outfits. Stored locally.

2.2 Data transmitted when optional features are used

  • AI Outfit Generation — if enabled, a structured description of your wardrobe items (no photos) is sent to a backend AI service to generate outfit suggestions. This is processed and not stored by us beyond the request.
  • Cloud Backup (optional) — if you enable cloud sync in Settings, your wardrobe data and photos are encrypted and uploaded to our servers. You can disable this at any time and delete all cloud data via Settings → Clear All Data.
  • Account Recovery Email (optional) — if you add a recovery email in Settings, it is stored solely for the purpose of account recovery via one-time-password (OTP) verification.

2.3 Analytics (optional, can be disabled)

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics such as which screens are visited and how features are used. This helps us improve the app. Analytics does not include photos or personal measurements. You can opt out at any time via Settings → Analytics.

Analytics data collected: app interactions, device type, app version, crash logs, and an anonymous device identifier. No personally identifiable information is included.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To display and manage your wardrobe within the app.
  • To generate personalised outfit suggestions (on-device or via AI service).
  • To track wear history and laundry status of your items.
  • To restore your data if you enable cloud backup and switch devices.
  • To improve the app via anonymous analytics (only if opted in).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We share data with the following third parties only as described:

  • PostHog — anonymous analytics. PostHog Privacy Policy
  • Our cloud backend — only if cloud backup is enabled. Data is end-to-end encrypted before transmission.

No other third parties receive your data.

5. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • Delete all data in-app: Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All Data. This permanently removes all wardrobe items, outfits, and your profile from the device.
  • Delete cloud backup: Disabling cloud sync and clearing data in-app removes all data from our servers as well.
  • Uninstall the app: Removing the app from your device deletes all locally stored data automatically.
  • Request deletion by email: You may also contact us at arnayshukla@gmail.com to request deletion of any data we may hold.

6. Security

  • All data on your device is protected by your device's own security (encryption at rest).
  • Data transmitted to our servers (cloud backup, analytics) is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • Cloud backup data is end-to-end encrypted before leaving your device.

7. Children's Privacy

OOTD is not directed at children under the age of 13. The app requires users to be at least 13 years old during profile setup. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at arnayshukla@gmail.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
